#8 dark side

Most 'good' cartoons were made in the 90's. Also the cartoons with the most subliminal messages were made in that time.

- hey arnold
- Rugrats
- Cow and chicken
- Ren and stimpy
- Recess
- Courage the cowardly dog

Are just some of the cartoons that are made and aired during the 90's. Some messages are obvious and some are not.

For example, in Rugrats. It is said that this particular cartoon has a lot of sexual preferences. Like these:

The show is often seen as prurient or “sex driven”.  The last name of the main characters is “Pickles” which is a euphemism for the male genitalia.  Lou Pickles usually calls his grandson, Tommy Pickles by the name “sprout”.

By: Shawnte Rey at bgsu.edu. Though it may not be obvious. Until a person comes to a certain age. But this show also supports pedophilia. Which could corrupt a childs' way of thinking and could a affect a childs' well-being.

And not just that. Also in Rocko's modern life. The subliminal messages are more obvious than the other cartoons. The main character, Rocko , favorite hobby is, jacking. And at one point his job was a phone sex operator.

Scott Dean says in 23 ways Rocko's modern life made you sick in the head at tagroom.com

"The show about a Wallaby immigrating form Australia to the US follows his exploits as he navigates his adopted home. Naturally masturbation is a common theme."

No signs point if it was intentional. But I believe that in Rocko's modern life was actually intentional. Shown or not, most episodes show profanity and it's just not a coincidence.

So in a nutshell, most of 90's cartoons show profanity and could affect a childs' way of thinking by mimicking their actions.
